It’s mostly my family that asks the final question.

Anyway, we thought it would be helpful to have a summary of services or things that we find useful and why. This list has evolved over time – but if we’ve missed something awesome, leave us a comment below with what we need to try before including!

This is an incredibly accessible introduction to personal finance, and in particular, financial independence.
It’s the first book I recommend to anyone new to financial independence

Incredibly easy to read
Breaks personal finance down into some very basic financial principles. This stuff is not rocket science

This is by far the best personal finance podcast I’ve listened to that’s specifically for UK consumers
The host goes into enough depth on each subject so that you can learn what you need to know. He then pivots to go through what you need to do. In my view, the best content is that which results in you taking an action that improves your circumstances

No regular bank fees (for basic account), and several free ATM withdrawals per month
Great mobile app and customer interface
Very easy to set up an account as an expat in Spain
Great customer service – including drafting a letter exactly as requested to keep a Spanish utility provider happy
Only downside is that they do not allow joint accounts. So my wife and I both have an account

I could not live without this!!!
Only have to remember one password – for the password manager
And combine the password manager password with second factor authentication for extra security
Can use long, random passwords for all other sites and never have to remember what these are
